Concern

So I am re-installing Leopard on my iMac. After 2 hours it is telling me I still have almost 6 hours remaining in the installation process. I am very concerned that a clean install may not solve my problems. I ran a hardware check before I began the process nd it came up clear... Who knows... I just want my computer back to normal.
